Natural Dye Class
- Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Featherston, Wairarapa South
- Product code: PQC7ZY
Class cost is $95pp, you'll receive 3x 50g skeins of our pre-mordanted Palliser Ridge natural lamb's wool, but if that's not enough we'll have extras available for purchase on the day.
The workshops are designed to let you try different natural dyes, from both locally sourced plant materials and "exotic" natural dye materials. You'll be able to experiment with combinations of dyes and techniques to create a range of colours.
While the class environment is not set up for dyeing a quantity of a single colour, you will learn how to do natural dyeing at home if you want to dye enough of one colour for a garment.
The colours change each class, due to using what's in season, it's truly exciting waiting to see what colours the foraged plants want to give us on the day, and dyeing the wool in the exact spot where it was shorn off the lambs!
